As a landscape photographer I find that true beauty is found not from the window of a car; it comes from walking out into your surroundings, taking time to experience the landscape then ultimately the scene or story will reveal itself. True beauty is found inside and sometimes a person needs to just peel back the layers to find the beauty or step out into the environment and experience the peace, quietness and beauty. Capturing the perfect image can't be rushed.

I grew up in the eastern half of North Dakota and due to life circumstances have never moved too far from there. One of my early presents from my dad was a brownie camera (yes, I know this is certainly dating me). He was a avid photographer and never went anywhere without his camera. I have photographed throughout my life, but it wasn't until maybe 11 years ago when I felt that maybe I could make some extra cash with my camera. I truly love capturing images in the outdoors, the beauty found in the landscapes around us, whether its in the springtime and the landscape includes a farmer out working their field or its on Lake Superior during some awesome wave action.

Horses were a large part of my young life (showing and trail riding) and now I've had the desire to capture the beauty, wildness and personalities of the wild horses in western North Dakota. Watching the wild horses is truly an awesome experience and can teach us a lot about caring for our family.

The shores of Lake Superior in Minnesota are majestic and you will see many images from this area. The Minnesota side of the lake is filled with many rocky shores making for dramatic images.

I started out with Canon cameras and continue to shoot Canon. I currently shoot with the Canon 5D Mark II and Canon 5d Mark IV; have a variety of L series lens and 1 landscape Zeiss lens 21mm T* distagon.

During my journeys my German Shepard, Zoe travels with me. She has learned over the years when to stay by my side and when to POSE!
